Who can forget that first glimpse of the ski trails as you turn up Brush Creek
Road?
Or the sight of Mt. Daly, with its diagonal band of stone,
dominating the skyline as you pass under the wood ski bridge?
Snowmass has such a mass of
skiable terrain - why, it could take a lifetime to really get to
know it.
Exactly!
Snowmass is about families. You keep running into three
generations skiing together. You notice the kids shredding the
half-pipe the boarders waiting for the ski patrol to drop the rope
into Hanging Valley Headwall, the grownups acting a third their age,
thrashing the powder in Garrett's.
At the end of the day, even the
folks at the ski-in, ski-out condos head down to the Mall for drinks
and tall tales.
Funny - it's the biggest crowd they've seen all day.
